Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a Los Angeles Car Crash

Vince Zampella, the mind behind the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The celebrated video game developer died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a motorway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This represents a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and everyone impacted by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
