The Gory Cartoon Film Conclusion That Lingers Viewers

Out of every adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve personally viewed, no other has stuck with me quite like the fear-filled finale of a viscerally violent and overwhelingly transgressive film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, the Spain-based filmmaker crafted a grim, bleak and frequently brutal world with several minor , forlorn hints of optimism.

While Unicorn Wars seems like it stemmed from an impulse to expand the medium further, the director explained that it was actually a try to communicate a global, multicultural message about “the shared root of all wars.”

That message is communicated via a group of vividly colored bears , openly inspired by a famous series of lovable figures.

Being raised in a society centered on warmongering and the military-industrial complex, a lot of these creatures are consumed by exterminating unicorns, due to a sacred text which states the bears they used to be kings of the woodland, before the unicorns expelled them.

Some have not completely bought into the indoctrination, and would rather sample drugs or fornicate in the forest.

Unlike their cuddly equivalents, these bright beings display genitals and obvious sex drives.

For a certain notably brutal, skeptical animal, the character Bluey, the war with the unicorns transforms into a road to control — and especially to dominance above his softer, kinder brother the bear Tubby.

This bear is a bully , an obvious antisocial figure , and while horror takes over his group and claims his comrades individually, he seizes progressively power for himself, in increasingly gory, damaging approaches.

Meanwhile, the unicorns are enduring their own horror, as a growing, destructive monster in their forest.

“Initially, it feels like a humorous movie,” the director said. “Yet it evolves into a more dramatic and sorrowful movie. And by the end, it’s a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars begins similar to one of the more quirky movies by an iconic filmmaker, which find a wicked pleasure in letting cartoon characters curse, shoot each other, or have intimate relations.

Subsequently it becomes something more like a more grim film from the same director, including ever more visual gore , a tangible connection to genuine horror of war.

By the end, it is a complete extreme drama massacre.

The fear that turns this a perfect Halloween viewing kicks in a lot earlier than that description suggests.

The Unicorn Wars is suited for the most dedicated fans of gore, for fans of intense movies who wish to watch something they have not viewed until now, and are able to withstand a story that offers no restraint.

View it in a dimly lit space with no disturbances, and the conclusion will dig deep within you and linger.
