Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
