Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have got lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
