The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to go next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Planners tables.
