American entertainer Finn, who featured in iconic programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
